Coming Up for a Breath of Freedom
February 24, 2012Have you ever taken in a breath of true freedom? Do you want to? It is available for those who are truly willing.
Recently, I found myself on a bus with my group from Hope International in the Dominican Republic to see their ministry firsthand. As we traveled I was doing something I do a lot: write. I rocked out to my iPod and poured out my heart on paper. As we got close to our dinner destination, I felt the Holy Spirit tug on my heart to share what I was writing at our sharing time so it could be used as a blessing to those around me. It is truly amazing how God reveals more as we obey His promptings and then uses us for His glory if we are obedient and willing.

What is Vision, Really?
February 20, 2012For me, a few things come to mind. First, I think about what I can physically see with my eyes.
I also think about how I have viewed my world and the world at large. It has changed so drastically in the last decade of my life that it I was moved to share some of what was on my heart with you. I hope you’re encouraged to reflect as you walk forward (hopefully pursuing your dreams) in life with greater confidence based upon truth and wisdom, not merely eyesight!
Irony Found a Decade Later
I took this picture in 2003 in Sedona, Arizona while on a trip around the western states. I held my glasses up and captured a picture of what I thought it might look like to be an invisible man. That day I took the picture to have fun and try and capture a cool picture. Nearly a decade later, I reflect on that same picture (which is mounted in my kitchen), and see much more.

A Spiritual Sojourn in Lake Tahoe, CA
February 6, 2012This year’s annual ski trip out west didn’t disappoint. It also ended up being a truly spiritual sojourn into the beautiful region of Lake Tahoe, CA
I think for many men who get participate in various trips, be they skiing, golf, fishing, camping or something else, many times stay focused on the superficial in life as the conversations flow. Thankfully, I have yet again been blessed to experience the exact opposite of this as I journeyed out to CA with my good friends Steve and Michael.
The snow conditions might not have been ideal, but the trip couldn’t have gone any better by my estimates. God used each of us to speak into our lives.
