The Charmans Head to Peru
January 22, 2015Personal friends of Live With Purpose Coaching, Steve and Kristen Charman, are headed to Peru in February, bringing the light of the Gospel of Jesus along with them!
If you’ve read Joe Sharp’s Running Down Your Dreams, you may recall Steve’s story in chapter 23, titled “It all Began With ‘G’Day Mate!’ The Steve Charman Story.”
Steve and Kristen, Sydney area (Australia) natives, will embark on a 10 day Missions & Crusades trip to Peru with evangelists Jerame and Miranda Nelson and Jim and Kathy Drown.
The Lord’s Itinerary – 10 days – 4 cities
By day the group will be equipping local churches through conferences and ministering to orphans, the poor, and those in prison. By night they will be praying for the sick and inviting anyone and everyone to commit their lives to Jesus.
How you can help – With a goal of raising $5,000, the Charmans have a long way to go to fund their trip. Please consider interceding for the trip and/or donating here. Rest assured that every cent donated will go toward the trip.
“And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up.” – JAMES 5:15 (NIV)

What Deepening Intimacy with God Looks Like
September 18, 2014I, for one, love physical exercise, athletics and pushing my body to reach new goals. Every year I set out to do so as I write my New Year’s Resolutions and it has landed me around the world on ski trips, adventure races and other events. While all of these things can be very fun, challenging and rewarding, I have realized there is something greater to receive beyond the pleasures of the adventures themselves. The Apostle Paul reminds me in (1 Timothy 4:8) that physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.
Recently, I have given much thought towards what deepening intimacy with God actually looks like. How can we better cultivate a two-way relationship with God as we grow closer to Him? As a business and life coach, I am all about helping people take action on their dreams while pursuing them through God’s eyes. As a point of encouragement today, I figured I would share a few revelations I have received related to that theme. I believe they are very practical and easy to apply to one’s life. Though this is not an exhaustive list, I’d like to share three specific examples.

Walking in Faith – Bangalore, India
July 8, 2014I don’t know where to begin. I’d rank today as one of the top five days of my life. Here, halfway across the world, in India. We set out with Ravi Kandal and the Kingdom Foundations staff to minister and witness to the people of two small villages about two hours outside of Bangalore. Wow, words can’t describe the spiritual significance of what happened today. The countryside was beautiful in its own way. It’s quite hard to describe. We passed many villages in our journey. Some Hindu, some with Muslim influence. All with cows, goats, chickens and dogs roaming the streets. It’s organized chaos on the roads. We headed back toward the airport and stopped at McDonald’s for a sundae and pit stop and traveled on through towns and villages, some very small and some much larger. The streets were lined with people moving about from place to place. They all knew where they were going but it was hard to sort it out. We picked up a Christian Pastor in the ministry van and kept going. It was one of the pastors that Ravi sewed into as part of his church planting ministry.
We finally arrived at our first destination village and the team assembled, all 14 of us. We prayed and teamed up with the intent to canvas the whole village in an effort to bond as team and also to establish a rapport with the community, stopping at houses, taking off our shoes and hopefully being invited in. Our mission was simple: provide our testimony and present the gospel as clearly as possible.

Traveling Wisdom Found at the Cove and the Beautiful South
March 1, 2014Do you know about God or do you really know God? Recently, I traveled through WV and NC and I reflected on just that question.
Before we get too far into the question above, I wanted to share some morsels that I gleaned as I traveled through the beautiful south with my wife, Jen, best friend Michael, and his wife Nicole.
Recently, I heard a story of a very healthy and fit woman who was 39 who simply died of a massive heart attack. My wife baby-sat her children in the past. It was a sad reminder of how precious life is, and we should NEVER take life for granted.
I realized that way too many couples don’t allow themselves enough time to get away and re-charge their batteries. They allow the pressures of family and life in general to give them reasons why they can’t reserve valuable, quality time. If it has been too long for you and your spouse since you have taken a getaway (even if it’s a long weekend), I challenge you to spend time planning your next excursion today.

Memoirs from a 90 Day Journey of a Lifetime

A Trip of a Lifetime to India
June 30, 2013Recently, I made my first trip to the country of India. It was truly a trip of a lifetime!
I have traveled all around the world and have been on some amazing adventures. However, this one was one of spiritual, personal and professional magnitude well beyond anything I could have hoped for. I pray my highlights are an encouragement to you as you consider your travel goals and dreams in life.
I was able to gain greater experience on Dream Interpretation through Kristi Graner of Dare to Believe. Her ministry was inspired by John Paul Jack’s organization – Streams Ministries. I was also able to grow in my experience with SOZO (Inner Healing / Deliverance) ministry. You can find out more at: http://bethelsozo.com/.
