Married for Life

– Marriage is meant to stand for a lot in reality if we look at God’s standards,
Married for Life

– It used to do just that if we look back into our not too distant history,

– Sadly today the erosion of the family unit and marriage is staggering,

– We trade patience for anger,

– Kindness for being rude to our loved one,

– Sadly we record a record of wrongs and many times are self seeking,

– Though this was the person that we stood before at an alter not too long ago,

– Saying that we would love them through thick and thin to death do us part,

– The culture now has conveniently switched death for the word trouble,

– So we reach a moment where we find more trouble than we can manage on our own power,

– And rather than seek God for strength to persevere we look around for something better,

– The easy out that is going to make everything somehow better in our lives,

– Satan dupes us into believing that lie and then showing it to us later in life,

– After we are broken and have scars enough to show our poor decisions,

– I have seen the amazing depths of raw passion and love through the elderly,

– My grandmother has a resilience and deepness to her love that is encouraging,

– Despite her physical and mental limitations she lives to love him,

– Lives to support him and stick with him through the worst of times,

– They walk on like 2 oxen yoked together equally pulling the load,

– Certainly pressing on while having faith in their creator,

– Running the good race and fighting the good fight until the last hour,

– So my challenge to is what is your life legacy going to stand for?

– If it is that you were great at your work or career well then that is your choice,

– If it was that you conquered the world or got tons done on your to-do lists great,

– Though would it not be so much better to say that it was your blessing of being married for life,

– To the same spouse that you truly honored your marriage vows too,

– How you encouraged so many other marriages around you about doing the same,

– Perhaps so many singles about the importance of honoring the marriage covenant before God?

– I truly hope that would be the loving poetic sound off that becomes your legacy,

– If you desire this then ask God to open your heart to learn how to love them better,

– For those who are single yet ask for him to teach you how to be ready to truly love,

– I pray you live a life full of genuine, unconditional, agape love with your spouse,
– That you pour out all God has given so you can put that person before yourself,

– I pray in the end He tells you well done good and faithful servant,

– I pray you help turn around our world and are married for life.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

“Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.” Psalm 55:22

“God is our refuge and strength, and ever-present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1
