The Best of Catalyst Conference Atlanta 2012

Have you ever been to a Catalyst Conference? If it not, it is a breeding ground for personal, leadership and spiritual growth!

I don’t know about you, but many times I find people go to conferences or retreats focused on what they want to take away or work on. They might even be diligent to action what they learned right away. However, I find it more rare for people to share what they glean openly with the world around them. It should be more freely done, and I can testify to that in my own life. I have been selfish in my learning many times when I should have more freely shared with the world. That is my goal today, to share the highlights from my recent trip to Catalyst Conference (Atlanta 2012). I pray it is a blessing of wisdom, knowledge and growth for you!

Have you gotten a physical check-up in the last year? Regardless, of your answer have you ever done that spiritually?

I recently was at a bible study on an early Thursday morning. We were prepared to continue our study of Francis Chan’s amazing book, Crazy Love. However meaningful that study hour was, what I received before we began was even more meaningful to me. I desire to share it with you today. I believe it can benefit you today if you are willing to complete the 14 questions that are posed below from Life Point Church.

No matter what you believe spiritually speaking, it is my hope and prayer that you will take some time today to ask yourself these questions and be challenged, encouraged and inspired.

Why is the (WHY) so Important For Your Businesses Future?

unconditional love, being ready to love, unexpected love

Are you really clear on why you do what you do in life both professionally and personally?

This summer, I have had coaching sessions and offsite hiking coaching retreats with several of my coaching clients around the globe, and have been helping them answer a common question: What is the WHY behind your dream, your goal or your future?

I found so many conversations ending up at this same place, even if I didn’t intentionally set out to go there with the person. Many people dream. Many people have businesses or dream of starting one. Many people also have NOT though about the reason WHY they want to do it.

A New Dream of Embracing the Cultures Around Us

Did you ever have a powerful dream? A trip to inner city Lancaster this past spring gave birth to such a dream in my heart. I’d like to share it with you today.

I joined a group of ten people spending a long weekend at the rescue mission located in inner city Lancaster last March. It was the second such trip I went on, however there was something remarkably different this time. Not only was the focus different for our group, the fruit from the journey was staggeringly different as well.

The Lady Who Got the Other Half of my Cross

Have you ever been to a funeral that was a truly positive experience? Recently, I witnessed such an event as the life of someone precious and dear to me ended.

The woman with me on the bicycle built for two was someone that will forever be grafted to my heart. Her unique flair and personality is captured extremely well by this timeless photo. She was an absolute trip! The reason her recent funeral was a truly positive experience is because we were able to celebrate her life. She was blessed with nearly 94 years of life, and I was blessed with so many extra years and special moments with her over her last 16 years. I lived with her when I was 18. My grandmother (Esther) and I shared a bond that many people rarely ever share with loved ones.

Be Careful of How You Advise Others!

unconditional love, being ready to love, unexpected love

Did you ever think about HOW you advise others in life? I have found that is a question rarely asked, but it is essential for all leaders!

As a business/life coach and founder of Live With Purpose Coaching, I recognize now more than ever in my life that the source behind HOW I advise my coaching clients, readers or my books or guests who listen to me speak around Running Down Your Dreams is of paramount importance.

It is easy to give advice. Even more so for the extroverted, A-type personalities of the world. Many people can spout off at the mouth with ideas before they really think about the how to best advice a person. It is easy to do, and I know I have done it before, though it will never be best or wise. It is something I always try to avoid.
